Why not just paste an image
Pasting a signature image into a PDF produces something that looks identical to a properly signed document. The difference appears only if the document is ever questioned, at which point the pasted version has nothing behind it: no record of when it was signed, and no way to show the file has not been altered since.
Self-signing through a workflow records when each field was completed and seals the result with hashes over the document. If the file is later modified, verification fails. That is the entire practical difference, and it costs nothing.
Sending it on
Once signed, download the completed PDF and its completion certificate and send them wherever they need to go. The recipient does not need a Bond4Docs account to receive them — and if they want to check the document, the certificate carries a public identifier they can verify without one.
