Step-by-step guide
You can sign a PDF in a browser without installing software. The steps differ slightly depending on whether you are signing your own document or asking someone else to sign it.
Free · No credit card · No signing limits
To sign a PDF online free with Bond4Docs, create an account, upload the PDF, choose self-signing, place a signature field on the page, draw or type your signature, and download the completed file. To have someone else sign it, add their name and email as a recipient, assign fields to them, and send the request — they receive a secure link and complete it in their browser without creating an account. The whole flow runs in a browser with no software to install, no credit card, and no limit on how many documents you send.

Self-signing and multi-recipient requests both use the same field editor.
Completed documents come with timestamped activity and a verifiable completion certificate.
Self-signing is the quickest path and is useful for documents you need to countersign, acknowledge, or return. Upload the file, place your fields, complete them, and download the result. No email round trip is involved and nothing is sent to anyone else.
When another person needs to sign, add them as a recipient and assign fields specifically to them. Each recipient receives a unique signing link generated from a cryptographically random token. They open the link, see only the fields assigned to them, complete those fields, and submit.
If more than one person signs, you can require a signing order so that a later recipient cannot act until the previous one has finished. You can also set an expiration on the request and send reminders to anyone who has not completed their part.
Bond4Docs supports sixteen field types, so most paperwork can be reproduced without redesigning the document: signature, initials, stamp, date, name, title, text, email, company, number, checkbox, radio, dropdown, address, note, and approve or decline.
Required fields prevent a recipient from submitting an incomplete document, which removes the most common reason a signed file has to be sent back around a second time.
Sign up at bond4docs.com with an email address. No credit card is required. Account access is protected with two-factor authentication.
Drag the PDF into the upload area of your dashboard. The file is stored in your private workspace.
Pick self-signing to sign it yourself, or add recipients by name and email address if other people need to sign.
Drag signature, initials, date, text, checkbox, and other fields onto the pages where they belong, and assign each one to the person who must complete it.
Complete your own fields directly, or send the request so each recipient receives a secure signing link by email.
When every required field is complete, download the finished PDF along with its audit history and completion certificate.
